**Deoghar, Jharkhand:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aircraft experienced a technical snag at Deoghar airport in Jharkhand on Wednesday, delaying his return to Delhi by over two hours. Sources revealed that the fault was detected while the plane was about to take off, leading to its grounding. While attempts were made to rectify the issue, an Indian Air Force plane was dispatched from New Delhi to transport the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, in nearby Godda district, Rahul Gandhi’s helicopter was grounded for 45 minutes awaiting clearance from air traffic control. The Congress party alleged that the delay was deliberate, intended to disrupt the Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition’s campaign schedule. They pointed to PM Modi’s rally near Deoghar, suggesting that his event was given priority over Mr. Gandhi’s movements. The helicopter was eventually allowed to take off after 45 minutes.
The Congress filed a complaint with the Election Commission regarding the delay.
At his rally in Godda, Rahul Gandhi advocated for a nationwide caste census, claiming it would transform India. He stated, “Caste census is bound to happen… We will demolish the 50 per cent reservation ceiling. PM Modi can do whatever he can.”
Voting in the second phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, covering 81 constituencies, is scheduled for November 20, with results expected on November 23.
