**Mumbai, India (November 15, 2024):** A fire broke out in the basement of the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Metro Station in Mumbai on Friday, causing temporary closure of the station. While the fire was contained to a wooden storage area, passengers were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reported that the fire originated in the basement, approximately 40-50 feet deep, and was confined to wooden storage and furniture. Firefighting operations are ongoing, and no injuries have been reported.

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) announced the temporary suspension of services at BKC station, advising passengers to use the Bandra Colony station for alternative boarding. The rest of Mumbai Metro Line 3 remains fully functional.

In a separate incident, a fire broke out in a building in Chembur on Wednesday, injuring a 60-year-old man. The fire started in the kitchen of a ground-floor apartment, spreading to a gas cylinder. The injured man, identified as Nafir Sayyad, suffered approximately 30% burns and was taken to Sion Hospital. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

These incidents follow a fatal fire in Goregaon on Sunday, where a 23-year-old man died and another was seriously injured. The fire occurred during the refilling of refrigerant gas in a vehicle, allegedly caused by a leak from the compressor.
