**Porbandar, Gujarat:** In a major drug bust, authorities have apprehended an Iranian boat carrying over 500 kg of narcotics off the coast of Porbandar, Gujarat. The seizure was the result of a joint operation by the Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after an overnight mid-sea operation.

The boat was intercepted near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) and brought to Porbandar. All individuals on board the vessel have been detained and are currently being questioned to determine the source of the drugs and their intended destination.

Authorities are also investigating the possibility that Pakistan may have been the source of the narcotics, following reports alleging the country’s involvement in pushing drugs across the border to finance terrorist activities.

This latest seizure comes just three weeks after another major drug bust in Gujarat, where narcotics worth over Rs 250 crore were seized from a company in Ankleshwar. Similar operations in the past have led to the seizure of drugs worth Rs 5,000 crore.

Officials are continuing their search for suspected vessels and additional drug shipments, as they remain vigilant against the smuggling of narcotics through sea routes.
