Fri Nov 15 14:45:00 IST 2024: ## Astronaut Hospitalized After Returning from Extended Space Station Mission

**PENSACOLA, FLORIDA** – A NASA astronaut is currently under observation at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola after experiencing a medical issue following their return from an extended stay at the International Space Station. The astronaut, whose identity has not been disclosed due to privacy concerns, is in stable condition and is being monitored as a precautionary measure.

The astronaut was one of four crew members, including two other NASA astronauts and a Russian cosmonaut, who returned to Earth aboard a SpaceX capsule on Wednesday. The capsule splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida, after which the crew underwent routine medical checks. The other three astronauts have been discharged from the hospital and have returned to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.

The extended mission, which was originally planned for eight days, stretched to a whopping eight months due to delays caused by issues with Boeing’s Starliner capsule and Hurricane Milton. The astronauts were scheduled to return two months ago but faced a series of setbacks that forced them to remain on the station.

Despite the medical incident, NASA maintains that the situation is under control and that the astronaut is receiving the necessary care. The space agency has stated that it will provide updates as they become available.
