Fri Nov 15 17:12:35 UTC 2024: ## Former AIADMK Minister Summoned Over False Affidavit in 2021 Election
**TIRUPATTUR, November 15, 2024** – Former AIADMK Minister K.C. Veeramani has been summoned to appear before the Judicial Magistrate Court 1 in Tirupattur on November 26. The summons stem from allegations that he provided false information regarding his assets in his 2021 Assembly election affidavit.
The court’s directive follows an Election Commission of India (ECI) inquiry which uncovered discrepancies in Mr. Veeramani’s declared assets. The Jolarpet election officer subsequently submitted related documents to the court.
The case originated from a complaint filed in April 2021 by Vellore businessman S. Ramamurthy, who accused Mr. Veeramani of understating his property holdings. Mr. Ramamurthy also petitioned the Madras High Court, which subsequently directed the ECI to investigate the matter. The ECI’s findings have now led to the court summons for Mr. Veeramani.
