Dehradun, Uttarakhand – Six college students from Delhi and Himachal Pradesh lost their lives in a tragic car crash in Dehradun on Tuesday morning. The accident, which occurred at around 1:30 am at ONGC Chowk, involved a car carrying the students and a truck. The impact of the collision was reportedly severe, with some occupants of the car being decapitated.
A video circulating on social media shows the group of students partying and allegedly consuming alcohol shortly before the crash. This has led to speculation that the accident may have been influenced by impaired driving.
The deceased students have been identified as Guneet (19), Kamakshi (20), Navya Goyal (23), Rishabh Jain (24), Kunal Kukreja (23), and Atul Agarwal (24). One student, Siddhesh Agarwal (25), remains in critical condition and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Siddhesh’s iPhone reportedly sent an emergency SOS to the police control room after the crash, potentially saving his life. His father, Vipin Agrawal, has appealed to the public to refrain from spreading rumors and speculation about the incident, emphasizing the immense grief felt by the families of the deceased.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident and are looking into the possibility of speeding and alcohol consumption being contributing factors.
