**Patna, Bihar** – The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the results for its Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 3.0. Over 2.75 lakh candidates appeared for the exam in July, and 38,900 have been declared successful. The results are available on the BPSC website: bpsc.bih.nic.in.
Of the successful candidates, 16,989 qualified for classes 6-8, and 21,911 for classes 1-5. However, despite the large number of applicants, a significant number of vacancies remain unfilled. A total of 5,578 positions remain vacant—1,984 for classes 6-8 and 3,594 for classes 1-5.
The exam, originally scheduled for March, was postponed due to a paper leak. The revised vacancy list reflects adjustments made based on reservation rules and legal proceedings.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews and document verification. Those selected will serve as teachers in various schools across Bihar.
The BPSC aims to address a severe teacher shortage in the state. A total of 25,505 primary school (classes 1-5) and 18,973 middle school (classes 6-8) positions are being filled through this recruitment drive, with additional vacancies under the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Welfare Department. A revised category-wise vacancy list is also available on the BPSC website.
