Fri Nov 15 16:30:03 UTC 2024: ## BBMP to Empower Local Businesses to Facilitate e-Khata Applications

**Bengaluru, November 15, 2024:** In a move to simplify and streamline the property registration process, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will soon empower local private enterprises (LPEs) or cyber cafes to facilitate e-Khata applications.

The BBMP recently launched this service at One Centres across Bengaluru, with 153 centres currently operational. The service comes at a cost of ₹45, plus an additional ₹5 per scanned page. An additional ₹125 is required to be paid to BBMP for printing the final e-Khata certificate.

BBMP Special Commissioner (Revenue), Munish Moudgil, stated that extending the service to LPEs will offer citizens easier access. “This service will be in line with the Grama One system. We will authorize LPEs to provide this service at a fixed price. With approximately 50,000 LPEs in Bengaluru, this move will significantly expedite the downloading of final e-khatas,” he said.

The initiative aims to eradicate corruption in obtaining e-Khatas, a mandatory document for property registration. The One Centres and LPEs will reduce the need for interaction with Assistant Revenue Officials (AROs), thus eliminating potential for misconduct.

The BBMP is also working on a correction module to address data entry errors by citizens. This module will provide clear guidelines for both citizens and AROs on how to rectify such errors.
