**Dehradun:** The Dehradun police, in collaboration with the Youth Welfare and Provincial Guard Department, conducted an awareness drive at the Youth Festival held at Parade Ground today. The event saw the participation of senior police officials who interacted with the youth and shared their experiences.

Addressing the gathering, the Additional Director General of Police emphasized the importance of helping accident victims. He highlighted that the initial moments after an accident are crucial and timely medical attention can save lives. He also acknowledged the shift in societal perception regarding helping victims, with a growing willingness to assist without fear of legal repercussions. The government is also encouraging such acts of heroism.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dehradun, further advised the youth against driving under the influence of alcohol and urged them to maintain a safe speed limit while driving. He emphasized that even a small mistake could have fatal consequences, leading to irreparable loss for both the family and the country.

The event highlighted the alarming trend of youth fatalities in road accidents, often caused by reckless driving and substance abuse. The police stressed the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and understanding the value of life.
