Fri Nov 15 16:20:33 IST 2024: ## Dehradun Accident Video Removed from X for Graphic Content
**Dehradun, Uttarakhand:** A horrific car accident in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, has left six young people dead and sparked outrage after a video of the aftermath was shared on social media platform X. The video, showing the victims’ bodies strewn across the road, was subsequently removed by X for violating their content policy regarding “unnecessary violence”.
The accident occurred on Tuesday morning when a group of students, traveling in an Innova car, collided with a container truck near ONGC Chowk. The impact of the collision was so severe that the vehicle, despite its five-star safety rating, was completely mangled. Initial investigations suggest that the truck driver was not at fault.
The video, which was shared on X, showed the victims’ bodies and scattered belongings, prompting the platform to take action. X stated that the content violated its content policy and removed the video.
The user who shared the video, identified as “Chauhan,” shared a screenshot of X’s request to remove the video. He later apologized for not including a trigger warning and for failing to blur sensitive content, claiming that he had found the video on another social media platform.
While X has removed the most graphic video, other videos of the accident remain on the platform but with blurred content to hide blood and conceal the victims’ identities.
The tragic accident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for responsible content sharing online.
