**VISAKHAPATNAM, November 12, 2024:** The South sub-division police in Visakhapatnam have arrested a member of a housebreaking gang from Thar, Madhya Pradesh, who was allegedly involved in a series of burglaries across the city.

The arrested individual, identified as Sahadar (25), was apprehended in Kurmannapalem on Tuesday. He is suspected of being part of a five-member gang responsible for at least six break-ins reported in the Duvvada, Parawada, and Gajuwaka police station limits.

Police recovered three-tolas of gold, 3.5 kg of silver, and ₹20,000 in cash from Sahadar. The gang is believed to have targeted homes in Shivaji Nagar and other areas, stealing valuables.

ADCP (Crimes) D. Mohan Rao stated that police received a complaint from a resident of Shivaji Nagar on November 1 regarding a theft at his residence. Acting on a tip-off, a police team apprehended Sahadar while he attempted to sell the stolen property.

A special team has been formed to track down the remaining four members of the gang. Inspector of South sub-division (Crimes) K. Srinivasa Rao and other officers were present during the press conference announcing the arrest.
