Tue Nov 12 23:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Celtics’ Tatum Questionable for Atlanta Matchup After Ankle Sprain

**BOSTON, MA -** Celtics star Jayson Tatum is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks after suffering a left ankle sprain during Sunday’s victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Tatum sustained the injury when he landed on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s foot during a defensive play. Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla expressed his frustration, calling the lack of a foul on Antetokounmpo “ridiculous.” Tatum echoed those sentiments, stating “There are certain calls you can’t miss.”

Despite the injury, Tatum finished the game with a strong performance, scoring 31 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and dishing out 6 assists. He entered Monday as the NBA’s leading scorer.

Adding to the Celtics’ injury woes, veteran center Al Horford is also listed as questionable with a left big toe sprain. Horford was expected to miss either the Atlanta game or Wednesday’s matchup in Brooklyn, as he generally avoids playing back-to-back games.

The Celtics also have Kristaps Porzingis (recovering from offseason leg surgery) and Jaden Springer (left knee tendinopathy) on the injury report. Meanwhile, starter Jaylen Brown was pulled from Sunday’s game after returning from a hip flexor strain.

The shorthanded Hawks will be without six players, including All-Star point guard Trae Young, who is dealing with left Achilles tendonitis.

The Celtics will hope to overcome their injury concerns and maintain their strong start to the season, while the Hawks will look to bounce back from a recent loss to Boston.
