Tue Nov 12 19:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Jaguars Quarterback Trevor Lawrence Out with Shoulder Injury, Mac Jones Set to Start
**JACKSONVILLE, FL** – The Jacksonville Jaguars’ season has taken another hit as star quarterback Trevor Lawrence is set to miss Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. Lawrence is dealing with a significant AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, sustained during the team’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last week.
The injury, while not requiring immediate surgery, is expected to limit Lawrence for several weeks. This leaves the Jaguars with a big question mark at the quarterback position.
Filling in for Lawrence will be former Patriots quarterback Mac Jones, who was traded to Jacksonville this past offseason. Jones, who has been working diligently to rebuild his confidence after a tough stint in New England, will have the chance to prove himself in his first start with the Jaguars.
Head coach Doug Pederson expressed confidence in Jones’ ability to perform. “He’s somebody that prepares extremely hard, extremely well,” Pederson said. “He’s a smart kid… He’ll be excited.”
The Jaguars are hoping Jones can step up and lead the offense during Lawrence’s absence, but the injury adds another layer of uncertainty to a season that has already been filled with challenges.
