**HYDERABAD, INDIA -** The Telangana government is actively working to expand the information technology sector beyond Hyderabad, focusing on establishing IT infrastructure and attracting companies to tier II cities.

IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu stated that the government is committed to promoting the spread of the IT industry to smaller cities, aiming to fully occupy IT towers developed in locations like Mahbubnagar, Siddipet, Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Nalgonda within a year.

The government is actively engaging with major IT companies like HCL and GlobalLogic, encouraging them to establish offices in tier II and even tier III cities with a strong talent pool. To further this strategy, the government plans to set up IT office spaces in emerging towns like Godavarikhani and Mancherial, prioritizing the employment of local talent.

This initiative aims to curb migration to urban areas, reduce associated mobility challenges, and foster the growth of smaller cities.

Furthermore, the government has announced plans to lay the foundation for the AI City, a public-private partnership project, near Hyderabad in the first quarter of 2025. The AI City will be developed into a global hub over the next few years.
