**Chennai, India** – A senior oncologist, Dr. Balaji, was critically injured on Wednesday after being stabbed multiple times by a young man at the Kalaignar Centenary Hospital in Chennai. The attack, which occurred around 10:30 a.m., left Dr. Balaji with severe wounds to his neck, head, and upper chest. He was immediately admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and remains in critical condition.
Eyewitnesses reported that hospital staff quickly intervened, apprehended the assailant, and handed him over to the police. The attacker, identified as 25-year-old Vigneshwaran from Perungalathur, was taken into custody.
