**Hyderabad, November 13, 2024:** Secunderabad Cantonment MLA Sri Ganesh Narayanan on Tuesday met with members of the Defence Standing Committee and the CEO of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB), highlighting crucial issues impacting the local community.

The meeting focused on the proposed merger of the SCB with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), a longstanding demand aimed at improving governance and services. Narayanan also raised concerns about the absence of elected public representatives in the Cantonment Board for over five years, emphasizing the need for elections to restore democratic representation.

Furthermore, the MLA highlighted the delay in receiving financial support from the Ministry of Defence, with approximately ₹900 crore in service charges still pending. He stressed the importance of releasing these funds to improve infrastructure and deliver essential services, noting that the SCB’s limited financial capacity has hampered their ability to provide satisfactory services to the community.

Narayanan also proposed allocating 10 acres of land within the cantonment area for an integrated school to provide quality education to underprivileged children.
