Tue Nov 12 17:00:21 UTC 2024: ## Visakhapatnam Gears Up for 23rd Visalandhra Visakha Book Festival
**Visakhapatnam, November 12, 2024:** The city is set to be immersed in the world of literature as the 23rd Visalandhra Visakha Book Festival kicks off on November 14th. The ten-day festival, held at the Turner’s Choultry, will be inaugurated by Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner P. Sampath Kumar.
Organizers from the Visalandhra Vignana Samithi, including CPI Visakhapatnam district secretary M. Paidi Raju and Abhyudaya Rachayutala Sangham district secretary U. Appala Raju, announced that the festival will feature a vast collection of over 20,000 books from 60 different publishing houses. Visitors can expect to find literature covering a wide range of topics, from spirituality and yoga to children’s literature and personality development.
The Visalandhra Book House, established in 1962 with the aim of making accessible science and progress-oriented literature, is celebrating a significant milestone. The festival was first hosted by the Book House in 1991 at the Turner’s Choultry, setting a new trend in the city. While local booksellers subsequently organized their own event, the Visalandhra Book House revived the festival in 2001, returning it to its original location.
The 23rd edition promises to be a celebration of literature and knowledge, offering visitors a unique opportunity to browse and purchase books across diverse genres. The festival will conclude on December 10th, inviting book lovers of all ages to participate in this literary extravaganza.
