**Johannesburg, South Africa** – A 10-member contingent of the Sri Lankan cricket team has arrived in South Africa to begin pre-tour training ahead of the upcoming test series against the Proteas. The group, including captain Dimuth Karunaratne, will train under the guidance of South African cricket coach Neil McKenzie in Durban.

This tour holds significant importance for Sri Lanka as they aim to secure a spot in the ICC World Test Championship final. The team’s performance in this series could be crucial in their pursuit of this goal.

The remaining members of the Sri Lankan squad will join the team in South Africa on December 22nd, following the conclusion of the ODI series against New Zealand.

The first test match of the series is scheduled for December 27th in Durban, with the second test match taking place in Port Elizabeth on December 5th.
