**SRINAGAR, INDIA** – A strong earthquake struck Afghanistan on Wednesday morning, sending tremors across the border into the Kashmir Valley. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported the quake measured 5.2 on the Richter scale and originated at 10:43:19 IST. The NCS further stated the quake’s epicenter was located at a depth of 192 kilometers.
While the tremor was felt strongly in the Kashmir Valley, there have been no immediate reports of damage to property or casualties in either region.
Authorities in both Afghanistan and the Kashmir Valley are currently assessing the situation and monitoring for any potential aftershocks.
