Mon Nov 11 17:35:15 UTC 2024: ## YSRCP Social Media Activist Arrested for Abusive Posts Targeting Politicians’ Families

**Kadapa, November 11, 2024:** Kadapa police have arrested YSRCP social media activist Varra Ravinder Reddy for allegedly posting derogatory and abusive content targeting the families of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Two of his friends, who provided him shelter knowing about his actions, were also apprehended.

The arrest comes after a several-day investigation. Kurnool Range DIG Koya Praveen revealed that Ravinder Reddy was active in the YSRCP social media wing and had allegedly posted offensive content against politicians.

The DIG stated that the investigation revealed a pattern of increasingly abusive content on social media platforms after the appointment of C. Vasudeva Reddy as head of the APDC in 2020. This was followed by party leader Sajjala Bhargav Reddy’s involvement, leading to a surge in objectionable posts, including those targeting High Court judges and political rivals’ families.

The investigation identified 45 individuals and 40 social media handles responsible for posting the abusive content. It was also discovered that the party social media district convenors and co-convenors were paid ₹8,000 a month from the APDC, and that a dedicated team of 65 members worked on YSRCP social media activities.

Furthermore, the investigation unearthed that the social media wing operated 40 YouTube channels from their office in Tadepalli, and that Bandi Raghava Reddy, PA of Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy, provided content for these platforms.

A case has been registered against Ravinder Reddy under the BNS and the IT Act.
