**Hyderabad, November 12, 2024** – The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has announced significant relaxations to its ongoing One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme, aiming to encourage more users to take advantage of the program.
The scheme, valid until November 31, 2024, initially required users to submit an affidavit to receive benefits. This requirement has been replaced with a self-attested undertaking.
Under the OTS scheme, users who have not previously participated can receive a full waiver on late fees and interest. For past users, a 50% waiver is available. The scheme requires users to commit to not defaulting on payments for the next two years, otherwise, the benefits will be revoked.
The new relaxations extend the 50% benefit to those who previously participated in the OTS-2020 scheme. All other users, excluding those who participated in the OTS except in 2020, will receive a 100% waiver on interest and penalties.
These changes are expected to make the scheme more accessible and encourage greater participation, ultimately benefiting both the water board and its users.
