**Karachi, Pakistan:** The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to write a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) seeking clarification after India officially refused to travel to Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. The PCB has sought legal advice on the matter and will use this feedback in their communication to the ICC.
According to reports, the Pakistan government has advised the PCB to involve other cricket boards and emphasize the importance of holding the match in Pakistan due to the significance of both countries. They have also asserted that India lacks any moral or legal justification for refusing to travel.
The PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, initiated discussions with senior government officials on Sunday to determine the next course of action after the ICC informed them of India’s unwillingness to tour.
India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan follows a long-standing pattern, with the last bilateral series between the two nations taking place in 2008. Notably, India has previously played tournaments hosted by Pakistan in neutral venues, like the 2023 Asia Cup, where they played all their matches, including the India-Pakistan clash, in Sri Lanka.
The PCB’s letter to the ICC is likely to highlight India’s refusal and request the ICC to take necessary steps to ensure the Champions Trophy match takes place in Pakistan, as originally scheduled. The PCB’s stance reflects the importance Pakistan places on hosting the event and their firm belief that India’s refusal is unacceptable.
