**New Delhi, India:** Maruti Suzuki has launched the highly anticipated fourth-generation Dzire sub-compact sedan in India, priced between ₹6.79 lakh and ₹10.14 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Dzire boasts a fresh design, a host of new features, and a powerful 1.2-litre Z series petrol engine.
The company is hoping to revive its small car sales in India with the new Dzire, aiming to capture a share of the shrinking sub-compact sedan segment, which has faced stiff competition from SUVs and crossovers.
The new Dzire features a bold new front grille, inspired by the Toyota Innova Crysta, along with LED headlights, redesigned fog lamp housings and front bumper. The side profile receives updated alloy wheels, while the rear features redesigned LED taillights.
Inside, the Dzire boasts a host of new features, including a sunroof, a Baleno-inspired touchscreen infotainment system with a 360-degree HD camera display, automatic climate control, and a new instrument cluster.
A major highlight of the new Dzire is its five-star safety rating from Global NCAP, making it one of the safest cars in India. The new model comes equipped with six airbags, a 360-degree HD camera, ABS with EBD, TPMS, and EPS with hill hold.
Under the hood, the Dzire utilizes the same 1.20-litre Z series three-cylinder petrol engine found in the Maruti Suzuki Swift, delivering 80 bhp and 111.7 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a five-speed manual gearbox and a five-speed AMT. A petrol-CNG bi-fuel powertrain is also available.
The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is expected to be a strong contender in the sub-compact sedan segment, appealing to both first-time car buyers and those seeking a stylish and well-equipped vehicle.
