Mon Nov 11 19:47:00 UTC 2024: ## NASA Astronauts from SpaceX Crew-8 Mission to Hold Press Conference

**Houston, TX** – Three NASA astronauts from the SpaceX Crew-8 mission, Michael Barratt, Matthew Dominick, and Jeanette Epps, will hold a public press conference today at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. This will be their first public appearance since their return to Earth late last month.

The conference, scheduled for 3:15 p.m. EST, will be livestreamed on NASA’s website and will include a question-and-answer session. The fourth crewmember, Russian cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin, will not participate due to travel commitments.

The Crew-8 astronauts were briefly hospitalized after their spacecraft splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico on October 25th, as a precautionary measure following their 235-day mission, 232 of which were spent at the International Space Station. One astronaut remained in the hospital overnight for observation. While NASA has not disclosed the identity of the hospitalized astronaut, the crew was later transported to Houston via helicopter and a NASA plane.

Their mission, initially planned for a six-month duration, was extended due to various delays. Bad weather caused by Hurricane Milton, as well as scheduling conflicts related to Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft, contributed to the prolonged stay in space.

During their mission, the Crew-8 astronauts traveled over 100 million miles and completed 3,760 orbits around Earth. Their work included conducting various scientific experiments aboard the International Space Station.
