**New Delhi, November 12, 2024:** The Delhi Police have successfully dismantled an inter-state syndicate of arms dealers, arresting 18 members in a month-long operation. The gang, led by Madan, is alleged to be involved in over 50 criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, dacoity, robbery, extortion, burglary, and theft.
The crackdown began with the arrest of two suspects, Arshad and Mohammad Suleman, from Ghazipur. A gun, ammunition, knives, and a stolen car were seized during the raid. The duo revealed the identities of other members involved in the illegal arms trade across the Delhi-NCR region.
Following this lead, police teams conducted raids at multiple locations, apprehending 16 more suspects connected to the gang. Notably, the mastermind, Madan, was arrested from Dasna jail in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where he was allegedly running the operations from behind bars.
The Delhi Police have lauded the success of this operation, citing it as a significant blow against the illegal arms trade in the region. They are currently investigating the extent of the syndicate’s activities and the flow of weapons through their network.
