**Mysore, November 12, 2024** – The All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) in Mysore partnered with Ashray Akruti, an NGO from Telangana, to distribute free behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids to individuals with hearing impairments. The event, held on Tuesday, saw over 50 beneficiaries from various districts across Karnataka, including Bagalkot, Kalaburagi, Chitradurga, Belagavi, Chamarajanagar, Koppal, Mysuru, and Tumakuru, receive the aids, which cost around ₹29,000 each.
The initiative targeted individuals from below poverty line (BPL) families, aiming to enhance accessibility to hearing resources and improve the quality of life for underserved communities. The program was organized with the goal of creating a more inclusive environment for individuals with hearing challenges.
“This partnership reinforces AIISH’s commitment to community-centered health services and underscores the vital role of support networks, especially the unwavering love and care of families,” stated the organizers in a press release. They further emphasized the commitment to inclusivity and empowerment, paving the way for a brighter future for those facing hearing difficulties.
