**Esplugues de Llobregat, Spain** – FC Barcelona was recognized for its outstanding achievements in handball during the 31st edition of the Catalan Handball Fiesta on Friday, November 8th. The club received accolades for both the first team’s impressive victories and the success of its youth teams.
The first team, under the leadership of director Joan Solé, was lauded for winning the prestigious Champions League, Liga ASOBAL, Copa del Rey, Copa Asobal, Supercopa Ibérica, and Supercopa de Catalunya titles in the 2023/24 season.
Individual recognition was also awarded to several Barcelona players. Aleix Gómez and Petar Cikusa were honored for their bronze medal win at the Paris Olympic Games. Petar Cikusa, Djorde Cikusa, Ian Barrufet, and Òscar Grau were celebrated for their title as Junior European Champions.
The Catalan Handball Federation held the event at the Les Moreres Municipal Sports Complex, drawing nearly 400 attendees. This celebration served as a tribute to the club’s exceptional contribution to the sport of handball, recognizing both the first team’s dominance and the promising future nurtured by its youth programs.
