**Milan, Italy -** Royal Enfield continued its launch spree at EICMA 2024, unveiling the highly anticipated Classic 650, the latest addition to its growing 650cc motorcycle range. The Classic 650, a parallel-twin iteration of the popular Classic 350, joins the INT 650, Continental GT 650, Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650 and the recently launched Bear 650.
The Classic 650 retains the signature Royal Enfield modern classic design, featuring a round headlight, nacelle, rounded fenders, tear-drop fuel tank, and a single-piece seat. While sharing key underpinnings and components with the Shotgun 650, the Classic 650 sports a 43mm telescopic fork with 120mm travel and a 19-inch/18-inch wire spoke wheel setup.
Powering the Classic 650 is the same 648cc air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine found in the Shotgun 650, generating 47 hp at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,650 rpm. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch, the Classic 650 boasts similar gearing ratios to its Shotgun 650 sibling.
The Classic 650, weighing in at 243 kg, is the heaviest 650cc offering from Royal Enfield. Other notable features include a seat height of 800 mm, ground clearance of 154 mm, and a 14.8-liter fuel tank capacity.
In terms of technology, the Classic 650 boasts a part-digital, part-analogue console with an optional Tripper navigation pod, adjustable levers, USB charging port, full LED lighting, and dual-channel ABS.
The motorcycle will be available in four color options: Teal, Vallam Red, Black Chrome, and Bruntingthorpe Blue. While pricing has been announced for the UK, Italy, France, Spain, and Germany, Indian bookings and test rides are expected to begin in January 2025, with deliveries anticipated to commence in February 2025. The Classic 650 is expected to be priced starting at Rs. 3 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is set to compete with motorcycles like the Interceptor 650, Shotgun 650, and the BSA Gold Star 650.
