HBO is set to release a new prequel series, “Dune: Prophecy,” offering a glimpse into the universe of Frank Herbert’s iconic science fiction epic, thousands of years before the events of the recent films.
The series will focus on the rise of the Bene Gesserit, the powerful and mysterious sisterhood that plays a crucial role in the Dune saga. It will explore the origins of their influence, including how they orchestrated the conflict between the Atreides and Harkonnens, two powerful houses destined to clash over the desert planet of Arrakis.
“Dune: Prophecy” will chronicle the early days of the Bene Gesserit, a time when they were simply a group of women with ambitious plans. The series premiere will reveal the beginnings of a scheme to place one of their own on the imperial throne.
