**New Delhi, November 12, 2024** – The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched bike taxis to enhance last-mile connectivity for commuters, starting at 12 metro stations across Delhi and Gurugram. This new service, aimed at easing the journey from metro stations to final destinations, will be available through the Momentum 2.0 app.
DMRC officials explained that two types of bike taxis are available: SHERYDS, exclusively for women riders and driven by women, and RYDYR, open to all genders. The fares start at ₹10 for the first kilometer, followed by ₹10 for the second and ₹8 for each subsequent kilometer.
Initially, the service will be available at 12 metro stations, including Dwarka Sector-21, Dwarka Sector-10, Dwarka Sector-14, Dwarka Mor, Janakpuri West, Uttam Nagar East, Rajouri Garden, Subhash Nagar, Kirti Nagar, Karol Bagh, Millennium City Centre Gurugram, and Palam. The DMRC plans to expand the service to all stations, with a target of 1000 riders, including 50 SHERYDS and 150 RYDRS.
The bike taxis will operate within a 3 to 5 kilometer radius from the designated stations between 8 am and 9 pm.
