Tue Nov 12 11:46:20 UTC 2024: ## Modi Slams Congress, Vows BJP’s Return in Maharashtra

**Chandrapur, Maharashtra:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, accusing the party of believing it was “born to rule” India and hindering the progress of Dalits, backward classes, and Adivasis. Addressing a rally in Chimur ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Modi alleged that the Congress had always been opposed to reservations, citing an old advertisement from the 1980s under Rajiv Gandhi’s leadership that questioned special rights for these communities.

“The Congress gets annoyed with (the topic of) reservations,” Modi stated. He further pointed out that the massive crowd at the rally was indicative of the BJP-led alliance’s imminent victory in the state with a “massive majority.”

Modi emphasized the BJP’s poll manifesto, the “Sankalp Patra,” as a guarantee for Maharashtra’s development. He also touched upon the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir, claiming it took seven decades to ensure a unified Constitution. “Will you allow the Congress and its allies to bring back Article 370 in Kashmir?” he asked the crowd.

Modi concluded his address by highlighting the BJP government’s financial assistance to soybean farmers.
