Tue Nov 12 04:10:00 UTC 2024: ## Santa Clara Broncos Host North Dakota State Bison in Home Opener
**SANTA CLARA, Calif.** – The Santa Clara Broncos men’s basketball team is set to host the North Dakota State Bison on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. in their first home game of the season. The Broncos are looking to continue their strong home record under Head Coach Herb Sendek, having won their last five home openers and boasting a 7-1 record overall.
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Anthony Passarelli and Henry Caruso on the call.
The Broncos opened their season with a split, defeating Saint Louis in their opener before falling to Arizona State in Las Vegas.
The Bison are also 1-1 on the season, having defeated Jamestown College before falling to Illinois State. They will face Cal State Bakersfield on Monday before traveling to Santa Clara.
North Dakota State, led by Head Coach David Richman in his 11th year, is led offensively by preseason All-Summit League selection Jacari White, who is averaging 24.5 points per game.
The two teams have only met once before, on Nov. 29, 2013, in the Cable Car Classic at the Leavey Center. Brandon Clark led the Broncos with 32 points, but it was not enough as Santa Clara fell 91-85.
The Broncos are looking to build on their success from last season, where they won 20 or more games for the third consecutive season. They return four of their five starters, including First Team All-WCC selection Adama-Alpha Bal and All-WCC Honorable Mention junior center Christoph Tilly. They have also added experience with the return of senior guard Carlos Stewart Jr. and the transfer of Elijah Mahi, who led West Valley College to an undefeated state championship season last year.
