Sun Nov 10 17:37:58 UTC 2024: ## Moscow Hit by Largest Drone Attack Since War Began, All Drones Shot Down

**Moscow, Russia** – In the largest drone attack on the Russian capital since the start of the Ukraine war, 32 drones targeted Moscow on Sunday, according to Reuters. While all drones were reportedly shot down by Russian air defenses, one person was injured and flights were diverted from three major airports in the region.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed the attack, stating that the drones were intercepted over the Ramenskoye and Kolomensky districts. Flight operations at Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, and Zhukovo airports were temporarily disrupted before resuming regular service.

This attack marks a significant escalation in the conflict, as Moscow, with a population of 21 million, is one of Europe’s largest metropolitan areas. The last major drone attack on the city occurred in September, when 20 drones were targeted at the Ramenskoye district, 45 kilometers from the Kremlin.

The US has provided Ukraine with $64.1 billion in military assistance since the war began, a move that has been criticized by newly elected US President Donald Trump, who promised to end the conflict immediately. However, Trump did not elaborate on his plans for achieving a truce.
