Sun Nov 10 05:43:07 UTC 2024: ## Delhi Choked by Smog as Air Quality Remains ‘Very Poor’

**New Delhi, November 10, 2024:** Delhiites woke up to another day of toxic air as the air quality remained in the “very poor” category on Sunday, with an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 334, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Several areas, including Alipur, Anand Vihar, Jahangirpuri, Rohini, and Bawana, experienced particularly high levels of pollution, falling under the “very poor” category.

A thick layer of smog blanketed the national capital, a consequence of ongoing pollution attributed to stubble burning in neighboring states, Diwali fireworks, and low wind speed. The AQI has remained in the “very poor” category for the past three days, raising concerns about the health of Delhi’s residents.

Despite the poor air quality, the city enjoyed a relatively pleasant morning with a minimum temperature of 18 degrees Celsius, one degree above the seasonal average. The weather department forecast a mainly clear sky in the morning, with smog or mist likely in the evening and night. The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 32 degrees Celsius.
