**New Delhi, India -** Maruti Suzuki has announced the launch of the new Dzire, a compact sedan boasting a five-star GNCAP crash test rating, making it the safest in its class. Bookings for the vehicle have already begun for a token amount of ₹11,000. The official launch and pricing announcement are scheduled for tomorrow, November 11, 2024.

The new Dzire comes in four variants – LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus – and is packed with features including a large infotainment screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a wireless charger, a 360-degree surround camera, and an electric sunroof.

Under the hood, the Dzire is powered by a new 1.2-litre Z Series NA petrol engine, mated to a five-speed manual or AMT gearbox. It delivers 80bhp and 112Nm of torque. Select variants are also available with a CNG option. Fuel efficiency figures are impressive, with the manual version achieving 24.79kmpl and the automatic version reaching 25.71kmpl. The CNG version offers a certified mileage of 33.73km/kg.

The new Dzire will face competition from the Tata Tigor, Hyundai Aura, and the Honda Amaze, which is also slated for a generational update next month.
