**Colombo, Sri Lanka:** Sri Lanka’s hopes of reaching the 2025 World Test Championship Final remain alive, but the road ahead is a challenging one. Currently ranked third, they need to perform exceptionally in their two remaining series to secure a top-two spot.

Sri Lanka will face a formidable South Africa away series followed by a crucial home series against Australia. Winning at least three out of these four matches is critical to their chances.

A three-win haul would place them at around 61.54% in the points table, which could potentially earn them a spot in the final depending on other teams’ results. A perfect four-win record, however, would guarantee them a top-two finish with a percentage of 69.23%.

The home series against Australia, scheduled in Galle early next year, could be a decisive factor. The spin-friendly Galle pitch might favor Sri Lanka, especially with their star spinner Prabath Jayasuriya leading the bowling attack.
