Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal recently revealed his love story with his wife, Gia Goyal (formerly Grecia Munoz), on the popular show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. Deepinder shared that he met Gia, a former Mexican model, through a friend in Delhi who had a strong feeling they would end up together.
“My friend always told me not to get serious, but this time he said, ‘You have to marry if you find a girl like her,'” Deepinder recounted. “I was intrigued to meet her, and then…”
Deepinder and Gia married earlier this year, and she has since relocated to India and become actively involved in Zomato’s operations. Recently, the couple made headlines by participating in a social experiment, delivering food as Zomato delivery boys, even sporting matching tees.
During the show, Deepinder also jokingly admitted that Zomato’s creative notifications are inspired by his love for Gia. “Sometimes, my romantic messages to Gia serve as inspiration for the app’s notifications,” he quipped. “I give full credit to our marketing team, who took my idea of ‘building a relationship with the customer’ a bit too seriously!”
This is Deepinder’s second marriage. He was previously married to Kanchan Joshi, whom he met while studying at ITT Delhi.
