Sun Nov 10 17:04:10 UTC 2024: ## Maresca Makes 11 Changes for Chelsea’s Clash with Arsenal
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has opted for a near-identical starting XI to the one that drew 1-1 with Manchester United last weekend for today’s crucial London derby against Arsenal.
Maresca, who made 11 changes for Thursday’s Conference League victory over Noah, has reverted to a familiar lineup with just one alteration. Marc Cucurella takes the left-back position, displacing Reece James who drops to the bench.
The Blues will field Robert Sanchez in goal, protected by a back four of Malo Gusto, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill and Cucurella. Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia will be the midfield duo, with Cole Palmer recovering from injury to secure a starting spot alongside Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto in the attacking midfield. Nicolas Jackson leads the line.
Maresca has a strong bench to call upon, including the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Christopher Nkunku.
Arsenal, meanwhile, will start with Aaron Ramsdale in goal, a back four of Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel, and Jurrien Timber, and a midfield trio of Thomas Partey, Declan Rice, and Martin Odegaard. Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Kai Havertz lead the attack.
The match promises to be a thrilling encounter as both teams aim to gain an early advantage in the Premier League season.
