**Bengaluru, November 10, 2024:** A thick layer of fog blanketed Bengaluru and the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Sunday morning, leading to delays and diversions of several flights.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported visibility at KIA between 50 mm to 100 mm, impacting flight operations. Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) officials confirmed that over 15 flights were delayed and six flights were diverted, including four to Chennai and two to Hyderabad.

The fog, classified as radiation fog, is a common occurrence in Bengaluru during the months of November to February. The lowest visibility was observed between 5:08 am and 7:25 am, impacting flight operations during this period.

The IMD’s local forecast for Bengaluru city and its surrounding areas predicts partly cloudy skies with dry weather for the next 48 hours. However, fog and mist are likely to occur during early morning hours in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 30°C and 19°C respectively.
