**VISAKHAPATNAMA, INDIA -** The Society for Integrated Development and Research (SIDAR) and Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College recently hosted a discussion on the “Contributions of Nobel Prize Winners-2024 in Economics: Institutions, Development and Democracy in the Indian Context.” The event aimed to analyze the impact of institutions on a country’s prosperity and economic development.
Distinguished speakers, including former Judge D.V.S.S. Somayajulu, former Rector A. Prasanna Kumar, and former Vice-Chancellor V. Balamohandas, participated in the discussion.
Mr. Somayajulu highlighted the importance of institutions, drawing parallels to the 18th century when India’s industrial production surpassed that of the present-day USA. He attributed the US’s later economic success to the development of stronger institutions. He emphasized that institutions serve as pillars for a nation’s growth.
