Sat Nov 09 03:43:58 UTC 2024: ## India Aim for Third Consecutive T20I Series Win Against South Africa

**Durban, South Africa:** India, under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, will aim to make it three consecutive T20I series wins when they face off against South Africa in the first of a three-match series at the Kingsmead in Durban on Friday. This clash is a rematch of the 2024 T20 World Cup final, where India emerged victorious by five runs.

While India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, is focusing on preparations for the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy, the National Cricket Academy’s VVS Laxman has taken charge of coaching duties for the South African series.

The South African team faces a significant challenge, having suffered a clean sweep at the hands of the West Indies in their last T20I series. They also drew their series against Ireland 1-1, showcasing a dependence on young players.

Meanwhile, India has injected some fresh talent into their squad with the inclusion of hard-hitting all-rounder Ramandeep Singh, who impressed with Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 and the Emerging Asia Cup, and Vijaykumar Vyshak, who was rewarded for his performance with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the previous IPL season.

India holds a slight advantage in the head-to-head record, leading 15-11. The last time India visited South Africa for a T20I series in 2023, both teams drew 1-1 after one game was abandoned due to rain.

The first T20I match will take place at the Kingsmead in Durban on November 8th (Friday) at 8:30 PM IST. The toss will be held 30 minutes before the start of the game. Sports18 will broadcast the series in India, with live streaming available on the Jio Cinema app and website.
