**Perth, Australia** – India’s hopes for a strong performance in the World Test Championship final have been shaken after suffering a humiliating 0-3 series whitewash at home against New Zealand. Former Indian cricketer and 1983 World Cup winner Sandeep Patil believes the loss serves as a wake-up call for the team, but remains confident they will bounce back.

“It was like a wake-up call,” Patil said at the launch of his autobiography. “It’s not like our team has been playing badly. They won the T20 World Cup a few months back. There are some big players in our team, surely they will bounce back.”

Patil highlighted the need for the team to learn from their mistakes, particularly their struggles against New Zealand’s spin bowlers. Ajaz Patel, Mitchell Santner, and Glenn Phillips caused significant trouble for the Indian batsmen, exploiting their weaknesses and contributing to the Blackcaps’ series victory.

Despite the recent setback, Patil believes the team will be ready to face Australia in the upcoming Test series. He dismissed any concerns about Australia opting for turning tracks, saying, “I don’t think they (Aussies) will make a mistake like that.”

India’s first Test against Australia will begin in Perth on November 22. The squad, led by Rohit Sharma, will be looking to regain their form and confidence ahead of the crucial World Test Championship final.
