**New Delhi:** Chief Justice of India (CJI) D.Y. Chandrachud concluded his term on Friday, wrapping up the last of his pending cases. Justice Chandrachud served his final day as CJI before handing over the reins to Justice Sanjiv Khanna, who will assume office on November 11th.
Justice Chandrachud’s tenure saw several landmark judgements, including the historic ruling on the right to privacy and the introduction of live-streaming of court proceedings. He is also credited with ushering in significant digitalization initiatives in the Indian judicial system.
His departure marks the end of an era in the Indian judiciary, and Justice Khanna takes the helm with the responsibility of continuing the work of his predecessor.
