The arrests followed a tip-off which prompted the police to conduct vehicle checks on Jones Street in Mannady on Wednesday afternoon. Four individuals travelling on two-wheelers were intercepted and taken to the police station for questioning. Their evasive responses led police to uncover their connection to Fathima Mowfia. Based on their confession, she was subsequently arrested.

The four suspects apprehended alongside Mowfia were identified as V. Dinesh Prathap (23), S.Santhosh (18), M. Praveen (20), and G. Thejas (18). Authorities seized seven grams of methamphetamine and two motorcycles from the group.

Police sources revealed that Fathima’s father, Shahul Hameed, was convicted three years ago for his involvement in cannabis trafficking.
