**Kent, OH** – The Ohio Bobcats are heavy favorites to defeat the winless Kent State Golden Flashes on Wednesday night, and a key player prop bet centers around Bobcats quarterback Parker Navarro.
Navarro, who has stepped up admirably following the transfer of star quarterback Kurtis Rourke, has been a force on the ground. He’s averaged a strong 6.2 yards per carry this season, with his rushing ability playing a pivotal role in Ohio’s success in MAC play.
“Navarro has really stepped up,” said Covers sports writer Andrew “Taco” Caley. “He’s consistently carried the ball over 10 times in conference games, and he’s already surpassed 80 rushing yards in three of those four contests.”
Caley, a seasoned sports bettor, is predicting Navarro to eclipse 75 rushing yards against Kent State, a team struggling mightily on both sides of the ball.
The Golden Flashes, currently sitting at 0-8 for the season, are allowing an average of 6.1 yards per carry, ranking among the worst in the nation in rushing defense.
“The Kent State defense has been absolutely shredded all season,” said Caley. “I expect that trend to continue on Wednesday, making Navarro a solid bet to hit the 75-yard mark.”
Beyond Navarro’s rushing performance, Caley anticipates a high-scoring affair. Ohio’s offense has been averaging 31 points per game in MAC play, and they’re facing a Kent State defense that ranks dead last in scoring defense, giving up 46.6 points per game.
With both teams likely to find the end zone, Caley predicts the game will go over the total, currently set at 52.5 points.
The game kicks off at 7:00 p.m. ET from Dix Stadium in Kent and will be broadcast on ESPNU.
