Fri Nov 08 03:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Mentoring Summit India 2024 to Focus on Building a Vibrant Mentoring Community

**Bengaluru, India (November 8, 2024):** The Mentoring Summit India 2024, a two-day event focusing on mentoring practices in India, will be held on November 13th and 14th at the Bangalore International Centre (BIC). The summit, organized by Mentor Together, celebrates the organization’s 15th anniversary and aims to establish a thriving community of mentors.

Over 70 speakers from across the globe will participate in 24 sessions, discussing key themes like the role of mentoring in educational policy, designing quality mentoring programs, and exploring global evidence and innovative practices in the field.

Arundhuti Gupta, Founder & CEO of Mentor Together, highlights the critical importance of mentorship, particularly during adolescence, when young people may struggle to navigate complex challenges. While India’s National Educational Policy 2020 recognizes the need for mentoring, the summit emphasizes the need for culturally relevant approaches.

“Most of the knowledge and evidence available originates from countries like the USA,” says Gupta. “Mentoring programs and practices continue to be largely derived from the global North.” She emphasizes that India’s unique cultural context necessitates tailored mentoring programs, and that the summit aims to bridge the gap between Western and Indian practices.

The summit is open to all and registration is available at mentoringsummit.org/get-invite. By bringing together government officials, businesses, non-profits, mentors, students, academics, and researchers, the summit aims to pave the way for evidence-based, culturally-appropriate mentoring practices in India.
