Fri Nov 08 06:06:33 UTC 2024: ## India Embarks on Rebuilding Mission in South Africa T20 Series

The Indian men’s cricket team, under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, will face South Africa in a four-match T20 series, beginning on Friday, November 8th. This series marks a crucial stage in India’s rebuilding process following the retirement of several senior players after the T20 World Cup.

The series, scheduled to be played across four venues in South Africa, promises to be a thrilling encounter as both teams aim to bounce back from recent World Cup experiences. India emerged victorious in the 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa, while the Proteas seek to soothe the sting of that loss.

The Indian squad features a mix of experienced players and new faces, with only four players from the World Cup winning team remaining. This series presents a valuable opportunity for the young contingent to showcase their talent and establish themselves as key members of the team going forward.

India will be without head coach Gautam Gambhir, who will be preparing for the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. VVS Laxman will take over coaching duties for the South Africa tour.

South Africa, meanwhile, will be missing several key players including Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, and Quinton de Kock.

Despite the changes in both squads, the series promises to be competitive, with India currently ranked first and South Africa sixth in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings. India holds a slight head-to-head advantage with a 15-11 record against South Africa.

The series will be broadcast live on JioCinema and Sports18 1 and Sports18 1 HD TV channels in India.
