**New Delhi, November 7, 2024** – India has expressed its congratulations to Donald Trump on his victory in the US Presidential election, describing it as a reflection of the people’s will. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with President-elect Trump on Wednesday, reaffirming India’s commitment to strengthening the India-U.S. Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.
During the call, PM Modi recalled their previous interactions during Mr. Trump’s first term, including joint rallies in Houston and Gandhinagar. Mr. Trump reportedly praised Mr. Modi as a “magnificent man” and India as a “magnificent country.”
Both leaders emphasized the significance of the bilateral partnership for the benefit of both nations and for global peace and stability. They committed to further strengthening ties across technology, defense, energy, space, and other sectors.
