**Lincoln, NE** – The Nebraska Cornhuskers are back in action across multiple sports, with the volleyball team kicking off a Pacific Northwest swing tonight against No. 12 Oregon. The Huskers have a history with the Ducks, but this is their first matchup in Eugene.

Meanwhile, the Nebraska wrestling team is ranked No. 3 in the nation for both tournament and dual competition, trailing only fellow Big Ten teams Penn State and Iowa. The Huskers open their season this Friday against Utah Valley.

On the basketball court, the men’s team is off to a strong start with a 1-0 record and will be looking to continue their winning streak this Saturday. The women’s team, meanwhile, has announced a time change for their upcoming game against South Dakota on November 16th, moving it to 7pm CST due to the Nebraska football team’s game against USC kicking off at 3pm.

Rounding out the news, Nebraska women’s basketball senior Alexis Markowski has been named to the preseason top 50 watch list for the Los Angeles Athletic Club John R. Wooden Award, joining a dozen other players from the Big Ten Conference on the list.

The news comes with a somber note, as former Nebraska softball coach Mark Watt passed away after a battle with cancer. Watt had a long and successful coaching career, leading teams at Lincoln Southeast and Lincoln Southwest to numerous wins and state championships.
