**New Delhi, November 8, 2024** – Delhi woke up to another day of hazardous air quality on Friday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching a ‘very poor’ 387. More than 15 monitoring stations across the city reported air quality levels in the worst zone, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

The 24-hour average AQI, recorded until 4 pm on Thursday, stood at 367. The CPCB’s Sameer app, which provides hourly updates, showed that 18 out of 38 monitoring stations were in the ‘severe’ category, with readings above 400. These included areas like Anand Vihar, Wazirpur, Rohini, Punjabi Bagh, and Nehru Marg.

A thick layer of smog blanketed the city, contributing to the dismal air quality. The minimum temperature dropped to 18.1 degrees Celsius, 3.8 degrees above normal. Humidity levels stood at 96 per cent in the morning.

The weather office has predicted mainly clear skies for the day, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 32 degrees Celsius.
